My individual essay-Humanistic study
When I hear about humanistic study, it really makes me surprised. How come? I still have questions in my heart. Why does Humanistic Study include in English subjects? I am still curious and looking forward this course in the first meeting. Then, when I have the Humanistic in the first meeting, I feel surprised again because of the lecturer. Do you know what is going on with the lecturer? The lecturer in this subject is the lecturer who teaches me when I was in second semester. At that time, he taught me in Bahasa Indonesia subject. Do you know who he is? Yeah, you are right! He is Mr. Hatim Gazali. There is so much some great and funny memorable event with him. Now, he is going to teach me again, but in the different level semester, different subject, different situation and condition, different classmates, and certainly in the different assignment and assessment.
Nowadays, I am in the third semester, in the Humanistic Study, and more having great peers. In the first time meeting of Humanistic Study, I do want to know about this course, what is Humanistic Study exactly? I only guess that probably it will discuss about relationship among humans and with its characteristics in dealing with humans. Actually, not only them, but also Humanistic Study is going to discuss about a relationship among the humans in terms of multiculturalism, religion with others, different cultures with others, and the way to behave based on those differences.
Besides, from Humanistic Study, I can also learn deepest about the real meaning of differences its self. It is really wonderful right? I think this subject is important for me, because I can know more how to behave as a good teacher to teach my students in which we live in multiculturalism country. As a teacher, I also have to teach and educate my students in order to they have a good behave and attitude in tolerant others through multiculturalism.
Multiculturalism based on my opinion consists of the differences. The differences which does not consist of various culture, but also various religion, various tribes, various roles of life, various shape and color of the skin, and various of tradition. Even, look at where we live on now? We live in a country which has so much the differences and multiculturalism right? Yeah, Indonesia is our country. Could you imagine that if all people in the world are short? If only there is one color in the world? If only there is male or female in the world? If only there is day and no more night again? If only there is one taste in the world? If only there is fire? So what uninterested this life in a place of people live! This life will be worthless, useless, and hopeless. It also will feel uninterested, worthless, useless, and hopeless if there is no more different of cultures and traditions. Allah SWT has encouraged every Muslim to reflect, to think, to consider, and to interact with the universe in order to enjoy the beauty of Allah’s creation. As what Allah says in holy Qur’an surah Ali Imran (3):190-191.
Again, Allah SWT has created different groups of people and they are expected to know each other. By being different from others, we are able to enjoy the beauty and the wonder of creations of Allah in this world. This means that we are able to consider and reflect upon the beauty of life. As what Allah SWT says in holy Qur’an surah Al-Hujurat (49):13.
We have to understand others. We have to behave respect and tolerant attitude in terms of others cultures and religion. Every cultures and religions teach a right way. Let them believe toward what they believe in their religion. Remember, never force others religion to integrate with our religion. Let’s Live peacefully and Unity. Don’t you know that our country, Indonesia will never ever get freedom as we see independence day if all of the people never build unity? They have built unity and gathered to reach a freedom. See?
In this addition, I hope that all of people can respect each other and be careful to anything people who wants to make build dispute, disintegration through each other culture and religion in order to have negative plan and making a catastrophe. For all people around the world, let’s build a solid unity with respect to each other in terms of the differences! By doing this great way, Allah SWT will send his mercy and guide us to the straightway. See? Life is beautiful with the differences, right? ^_^
